Selected head coaches only, one per team per season and one credit per household. Credit equals the registration cost of the season coached and is issued as a promo code for a future season. Do I need football or coaching experience?
No football experience is necessary. The league provides drills, plays, formations, coaching tips, a rulebook, and a coach meeting before the season. Bring patience, positivity, and a willingness to learn.
Can I coach my child's team?
Yes. Selected head coaches are assigned to their own child's team. If you have more than one child, let the league know which team you prefer to coach.
How much time should I plan for?
Schedules and session lengths vary by program. Coaches are expected at all practices and games, plus the virtual preseason meeting. Check WorcesterFlag.com for current program details, and ask the league about the time commitment before registering.
Is my child's registration free right now?
No. The head coach benefit is a credit toward a future season, not a waiver of this season's registration. Eligible selected head coaches receive a promo code equal to the registration cost of the season they coached. One selected head coach per team per season and one credit per household, subject to completing the coaching requirements.
What do I need to complete before coaching?
Pass the background check, complete online concussion certification, and attend the virtual coach meeting. The league also requires coaches to attend all practices and games.
